Skate with Us

North Wales Roller Derby has three teams of skaters and a New Skater training programme; this allows us to cater to a wide variety of skill levels, from people who have never worn roller skates in their life, to experienced players that play roller derby at international level. So, if you’re interested in joining us on eight wheels, we definitely have something to suit you. If you’d like to join us as a New Skater, we have intakes throughout the year, and if you’re interested in transferring to us, we’re always happy for new people to join us.

Ref with Us

Reffing can seem intimidating on the face of it, it often feels like those in the black and white stripes know everything about roller derby and make it look easy. But every ref has had to learn, from first strapping skates to their feet to the intricacies of calling a penalty in the middle of a tournament-winning game. If using your brain muscles while using your skating muscles is your thing, then reffing is exactly what you’re looking for. So, if you’re interested in learning and then earning your stripes, we’re the league for you.

Officiate with Us

Roller derby is a fast-paced sport that needs a lot of eyes on the action on-track to make sure scores are correct, penalties are served and the game runs to time. It needs an entire team, in fact, and they are known as Non-Skating Officials or NSOs. They’re an essential part of our league and many of our officials are multi-skilled, taking on reffing and skating with teams as well.

Volunteer with us

We always need volunteers to help make our public events happen; just like officials, volunteers are an extremely important part of North Wales Roller Derby. We know we’d be lucky to have you on our team, so click on the link below to find out exactly what volunteering with us means for you?
